My dog getting hit by a car. Still to this day my most traumatic experience. I've been pretty fortunate so far in that respect I guess but a person's affection for a dog is pretty incredible.

Over 10 years ago I heard my neighbors get mowed down around midnight. A young kid about 20 years old apparently got involved a drug deal gone bad, and the dealer came to his house and dealt with it. Shot the kid in the head, shot his girlfriend in the back, and then shot his mother in the face as she came down the hall. The mother somehow lived.
I heard it all go down, then looked out the window and saw the car peeling out. I called 911 and then slowly walked over to the driveway. Luckily the cops pulled up pretty quick. Glad I didn't see them in that condition.
It was a quiet little neighborhood and a nice starter home for us, but we moved out 3 months later. It's gone downhill since, it's sad. My neighbors were white, the shooter was not. It's still a cold case. The mother was able to make a sketch, but that's it.

did Gene go to prison?
No. The victim did not die but did lose the use of his dick. Gene paid a fine of $500.00.

Gene would agree with you. He was an expert with firearms, so it was determined he did not shoot with the intent to kill.

Methinks Gene was friends with the local law enforcement.

If fear is an emotion, then it has to be when my girlfriend and I were held up at gunpoint outside my apt in Tigerland.
We drove in late one night from Shreveport and I was getting our bags out of the back of the truck and a car full of dindu nothings had pulled up unbeknownst to me. One walked up behind me with a gun and a mask on and demanded my wallet and her purse. I was a broke kid and returning back with money my parents gave me for Christmas. The thugs got it all.
I was literally scared shitless. My gf had nightmares about that for a while and for a long time was scared in dark parking lots if anyone was coming towards her.

By complete accident I wound up at the Red Sox game honoring the Boston Marathon Bombing first responders and victims. It was really incredible. I don't think there was a dry eye in Fenway. Boston people have an incredible spirit.

Saw a small puppy get run over and I sat down and coddled it until it died. Its intestines had been pushed out of his butt and he was yelping in pain. Worst part about it was the mom dog was crying as I was holding the dog, she was licking the puppy. Once the puppy was dead, she just laid there with him....it was so sad.
I was bawling my eyes out, not sure I've cried that hard since....and that was over 10 years ago.
I was an emotional mess the rest of the day, it really fricked me up down to the core.

Number one that involved me would have to be the birth of my kids.
As for something that involved others, back when I was in HS, this would have been about 1987, one Sunday morning I saw a girl in a Mustang convertible get t-boned by an old man in an old pick-up at an intersection. He looked to be doing about 60-70 and never touched his brakes as he blew through the red light. He hit her right on her door at full speed.
We ran over to her car and she was laid over into the passenger seat laying almost flat across the console. There was a chunk of scalp and hair stuck in the windshield where she hit it. She didn't move anything except her eyes. Her door was basically crumpled in and over almost flat where it had crushed her legs and pinned her down almost up to her hips. I don't even know if she could still see at that point. But she looked straight up at me and then she was gone. The image of her face has stuck with me for going on 30 years now.
The really sad part is this girl was just about to start her senior year of HS in about a week or two. As for the old man, he was in his 70s or so. He was killed instantly. We found him in the floorboard of his truck along with a bottle of whiskey that had spilled out all in his truck when he hit her. He's hit his steering wheel and bent the column to where the steering wheel was now push up flat similar to what you'd see in an old bus or 18 wheeler.
