I'm excited. I've been feeling massive burnout at work and sooooo needed a change. It will be something totally different than working as a peds nurse, but sounds really interesting.
I will miss taking care of pediatric patients though. I think I stayed there so long because I enjoyed caring for the kids the most.

You would like my wife.. just got her phD in nursing. She has always focused on pediatrics and now is a associate professor of nursing. teaches pediatrics. And like you, got burnt out working in peds.

Good for her, no way I could get my masters nor phd....I'm done after I get my BSN next month.
My advisor already asking me if I want to continue to get my masters. Wanted to tell her "hell no!!"
And I bet she has told you that it wasn't the kids themselves that burnt her out....but all the BS with hospital management

quote:I worked at Ochsner Main Campus and there was some male nurses hooking up with female nurses. Not abundant, but it was happening. I had a short fling with one, and I learned quickly not to dip my pen in company ink. There were 3 or 4 female nurses I know off hand that had relationships with physicians (1 of them married one of the neurologists). Now the hospital I work at now, not so much. It's much smaller and an older (30s-40s) population among the nursing staff.
But staying on topic, what's been your experience with the nurses where you work......any shenanigans?

ICU nurse and wife is CRNA. Combined >250/year. We both work 3-4 days a week. Off all the time and I've actually saved lives. It aint that bad being a Murse. As far as people doing it the hospital, It happens all the time.. I've caught people doing it in the stairwell.Oh the stories I could tell.

I'm a murse in the Bay Area. Came here as a travel nurse and stayed. Not out of the ordinary for regular RNs here to make 200-250k.

I got a buddy that's been a RN for nearly 30 years.
He's a full-blown sex addict.For real.
He drove at least 6 hrs, round trip. From Gadsden,AL to Dothan,AL,and back,to have sex with a woman he had never met in person.Probably had shared nudes with.
We have a mutual friend,so I'm getting these crazy stories 2nd hand.But I know they're true.
