Does anyone else think it’s incredibly sad that Louisiana has so little towns that fit this category?

In every other state, you can narrow it down to 8-12 REALLY nice cities to choose from. In Louisiana, we have maybe 2-3 decent cities... all of which wouldn’t make it into the other states’ top 15.

The best place to live in Louisiana or anywhere else is subjective. What do you want in your hometown? Small town living? Farm life? City living?

If it were me, the answer would be New Orleans. But I could completely understand why someone else would choose a small town.

That's why these threads always amuse me. To some it's the excitement of a big city that's appealing. To others it's living near friends and family.

There will never be agreement because people have different interests and values in determining quality of life.

Do what makes you happy and screw what anyone else thinks.

This isn’t a city living vs country living argument.

I, personally, prefer the country. Most other states offer better, nicer cities as well as better, nicer quaint country towns both much cleaner and with much less culcha.

After Houston..? Not saying LA is the greatest place but this whole thread is about Louisiana and has nothing to do with your precious Houston. Houston itself is shite. It’s the suburbs that are nice there. IMO. I don’t see how that is a crazy statement either.

Wow! Calm down dude, I was just trying to be funny because the OP asked if everyone lived in Houston. Geez...

You’re right. But debating Louisiana issues is entertaining so why not keep the threads coming.

Fine, I get your point. But the question posed by the OP was best place in Louisiana to live. Not whether or not other states offer better options.

It’s like someone said, “what is your favorite kind of cake?” And you countered with “there are so many better flavors of pie!”

Valid counterpoint.

My old lady and little boy are out at the Cape this week. They’re in Salisbury. I got to stay home with the girls (dogs)

OP didn't ask where the best place to live in the country was. My argument is simply that even the question within Louisiana is so subjective that it's impossible to answer.

I've seen Alexandria mentioned a few times and I ended a relationship of several years to avoid moving there

Well if it makes you feel better, Salisbury is definitely not even close to being the Cape. Geographically it’s closer to New Hampshire than Cape Cod.
