Between Opelousas and Shreveport it is deserted and the only place there are consistently cops is around the St Landry exit

Speed limit mostly 75 and the road is as smooth as you can find in this shithole state

Always a pleasure to just set my cruise on 80 and enjoy a 6 pack on my relaxing 2.5 hour drive

The best well thought out actually meeting capacity stretch of road in Louisiana is I-49 from Bert Kouns to I-20 in Shreveport.

Desoto Parish used to run radar big time. They’d hide in the undulating middle sections. You couldn’t see them cresting a hill.

It's because it is the newest Interstate. It wasn't completed until the 1990s.

That’s the loneliest stretch of highway in America. Driving from Dallas to Houma to visit family is brutal when I hit this 200 mile stretch of nothingness

I-65 from Mobile to Montgomery and I-10 from Pensacola to Tallahassee is worse. Trees lining the road all the way.

At least I-49 has a little bit of elevation change to look at.

You haven't driven I70 through Kansas then.

I will take wide open spaces over trees any day

I don't mind the drive across Kansas or west Texas. At least you can look out into the open and see things.

In the southeast it's never ending trees. It can make a man go insane.

El Paso to San Antonio and vice versa is nothing compared to I10 through Florida or I65 Mobile/Montgomery. There's scenery.
I'd even take I70 Kansas over that. 55/55 through Missouri/Illinois sucks too.

I49 way better than 10 or 65 as mentioned
