I'd put the first year as 1992.
By the time you could think on your own, the Internet was already an established thing.
that would be generation Z

I'm 32 and I know I'm on the cusp of Generation X and Millenial, depending where you put the cutoff.
Posted on 1/16/16 at 8:30 am to WG_Dawg
You're welcome to have an option on it. Just know that it's wrong
The generally accepted cutoff is around 1980. I'm on the border at 79

3 more years until people born in 2000 are in college!

Not sure. But I like to think anyone that was young enough to join Facebook without a college email is a POS millennial

how am I wrong? To quote sabi
quote:
There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends; most researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s.
That's a pretty fricking wide range of years. What is your source that clearly and definitively defines the generational cutoffs?
quote:

Sorry, but nothing about a THIRTY SIX year old fits in with the millennial generation.

I also think one rule of being a millennial should be how 9/11 affected you. If it was some vague memory about something bad happening or no memory at all, you are a millennial. If you were old enough for it to completely alter your way of thinking moving forward, you are not.

according to fin's sources, you could have been a junior in college when it happened and still be a millennial.

What if you were in a coma?

Your quote says it begins in the early 80s. I don't need my own since yours agrees with me
You milenneals are pretty dense

Not "my" quote, I just copied what sabi said.
Also, you said
quote:

The generally accepted cutoff is around 1980
So, you say that that quote from earlier stands alone and you agree with it, since it agrees with your stance...yet it also says there is no defined year and could stretch all the way to 2000. So, it agrees with me too huh?

I might start hanging out at Cadillac café, I'm getting tired of dating millenneals

Sorry I don't think 36 year olds are millennials. If that makes me an idiot oh well.

You can disagree with the values of a generation and still be part of said generation. Fin is correct and you can source any number of research articles. Precise cut-off are difficult to quantify, but Gen X is generally considered to have spanned 1965-1980. Gen Y is considered to have spanned 1981-2000. Gen Z is 2001-. Most sources place an asterisk for the start and end years, but the ideologys shift was more than apparent by the year specified.

The 36 yr olds, that dress as 20somethings, most certainly are.

I'm January of 81. Was also raised by older parents born in the early 40s,so I do not really feel anything similar to the millennial group even though some have early 80s included in group. Didn't log on to the Internet until I was at lsu in 1999 (asl?). I'd say my brother born in 85 is the same way.
