I'm genuinely curious, why SE Asia?

Off the top of my head without doing any real research I'd say pretty much all of sub Saharan Africa, except a few countries.

Gonna be a lot about the Middle East here but having lived and worked there for a while, it’s very eye opening.
It’s impressive that people were able to build and survive in a sea of nothing. It’ll also make you appreciate things like minimum wage. Anyone who complains about how bad they have it in the US should go there for a month and watch the poor bastards digging holes in the desert from sun up to sun down standing in a pile of their own shite.

No desire. Hot, humid, and the scenery can be experienced elsewhere.

Afghanistan. North Korea. Venezuela, in its current iteration. Antarctica.

the Middle East (excluding Jordan, Lebanon, Israel and north Pakistan) is my answer.
I'm looking forward to a trip to Oman later this year, supposed to be the safest country in the Middle East.
Years ago I visited Pakistan a few times and enjoyed it, but I have no desire to return. It really makes you appreciate what we have in the US.
India is a bit daunting but I may add a few days there to the Oman trip.
There are almost no places that I don't want to visit. Repressive regimes and legitimately risky locations are the exception. Most places are not nearly as dangerous as people think.

There would always be that moment of disappointment when she realized everything isn't proportional though

Rumor is that Korean girls have the smallest boxes

Friend of mine was stationed in Djibouti. He has basically said that no rational sane person would want to go to Djibouti. I do not want to go to Djibouti.

To each their own, but I will say it's not always hot and humid. And many of the places certainly cannot be experienced elsewhere.

Asia and the Middle East do nothing for me. Except maybe japan. Other than that, no thank you

Anywhere I would be killed for being a mulatto. So no middle East, Eastern Europe, or deep south
Mulatto is an offensive, outdated, perjorative term. In the Gladwell thread you balked at someone for saying “mixed race.”

I have spent decades working overseas and can comfortably say if the name ends in either "ia" or "stan" it is a shithole.
