Well there have been studies that say that vitamin D supplements taken weekly or daily help people avoid respiratory infections. Of course, the benefit was most pronounced for those who were vitamin D deficient.

And some suppose that one of the factors that allows the flu season to pick up in winter is the change in the amount of sunlight that people due to the lack of time outdoors/less exposure to the sun.

But who knows? It would be great if true; it would help end this problem much quicker.
