The Lowes Vanderbilt Hotel. It's a high class hotel and it is across the street from the Vandy campus.

Hilton across from the Hockey arena is a really nice place and puts you downtown, close to the action.

There is a very nice Marriott that virtually overlooks the Football and Baseball stadiums right on campus.

I just got back from Nashville this afternoon. Stayed at the Omni and it was pretty nice. Had an awesome bar/restaurant in it. Its right in the middle of Downtown also

Stay downtown at the Hilton or Omni in midtown at the Hutton Hotel.

Hutton is very nice /upscale place. They have a free shuttle that will get you anywhere within a few miles (should get you to Preds game). Hutton gives you good access to Vanderbilt. Good place to eat close by is Amerigo (get tiramusa)
Union station is an older place closer to Bridgestone arena. Good place to eat close by is Virago (sushi). Flying Saucer (bar) is also close by. The Gulch is also very close (trendy eats/bars) as is downtown (more traditional honky-tonks).

Stay 3 night at the Lowes Vanerbuilt and you get 30% off the entire stay.

There's an Embassy Suites on Broadway. Courtyard, Holiday Inn on West End. All in walking distance.

Courtyard Nashville/Vanderbilt. Plus Brewhouse is right beside it. Buy one get one beers on Sunday!

The Omni has freezing cold water, no warm water.

Went to Nashville once for a conference for work. They put us up in the Sheraton downtown. It was surprisingly nice and a good affordable option.
