How would we go about doing this when some people make no attempt to help themselves? It's not that hard to not be poor in the US.

Don't commit crimes, don't have children out of wedlock, graduate HS, get a job. These simple steps will just about guarantee that you won't live in poverty.

Most are so desensitized that even that wouldn't help. You can see it in their hollow dead eyes.

Correct. No one took away their right, they made a conscious decision to give it up.

Wrong. That's what got us here. Let them starve or commit crimes that get them locked up forever. We house, feed, cloth, too many people that contribute nothing. They are basically human parasite.

The more crime the more police and prisons we need. The left has it backwards. If there we little or no crime then we could reduce the police and incarceration. Stop doing crimes no police needed. Economy booms. STOP CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR

Yeah more social programs won't fix anything and that's usually what people mean by that.

Death Penalty reinstated where it is on pause or completely eliminated.

Increase mandatory prison time for certain crimes that tend to be trending upward, like carjacking, etc.

the US FedGov and all of the Ruling Class are in favor of Chaos and De-evolution, IMHO, so, no real solution to the problem will ever be implemented.

Eliminating handouts for any more than 2 chilluns per baby momma would help make the future look brighter. The problem is that the paid for breeding program to create more Dim voters is also creating more second/third/fourth generation thugs, and this leads to more idiots and criminals being elected to “lead” all our major cities. I don’t see this being turned around. Ever.

TLDR version is we all know who is causing the crime problem, everyone is afraid to state the obvious.

Two parents teaching their kids to be considerate to others, teach humility, teach there are consequences for their actions.

US has the highest rate of single-parent households in the world. I'm not making this up, google it.

But apparently, our communities just want to elect people based on the color of their skin, not their qualifications.

Of course, let's trust the govt to decide such things. What could go wrong?

I realize that's said in (at least some part) jest, but it does have a nugget of truth to it. For many, the reality of death as a penalty for certain crimes is only an abstract, similar to how someone who sleeps around knows venereal diseases exist, but simply ignore that they are susceptible... right up until they start getting sores/burning sensation/etc.

A caveat I would want (hell, I would like it right now) is that in the case of someone being killed who was later found to be not guilty, anyone actively involved in framing them and hiding this also go in front of the firing squad.

A death sentence is something which has to be taken as seriously by those charging it as it is to those who are being charged.

Another thing I think would help is for a complete restructuring on how our education system works. We need to stop worrying so much about instilling self-esteem through lowering expectations to instilling self-esteem by giving them more tangible things to be responsible for. For example, in Japan the kids keep the schools clean (from dusting to scrubbing toilets). This helps instill a sense of ownership and pushes self and peer responsibility within the children (it's a large part of why pretty much everywhere in Japan is litter-free - street-view your heart out).

Another aspect of public education which needs to change is the lack of apprenticeships as part of schooling and the lack of career-path determination as part of educating children (giving the more mechanically inclined classes which focus on their inclinations, for example).

The important thing to note about changes like these (both to education and death sentences) is that it takes time for their full impact to permeate through society (although the death sentence impacts would be faster, the education changes would be deeper and longer-lasting as long as it was maintained).
