Than what?
I know I'm not upper social class. I didn't get my membership card or decoder ring.

Lets use Troy Landry or the Robinson's for example.
Although they are no where near Jay Z wealth, but they can be called millionaires fairly easy.
Wouldn't they have certain doors open by their financial status even though they are perceived as white trash?

Ham, I'll have to get your patence of nobility before we grab beers. I only hang out with people with at least 3 generations of executive level white collar professionals in their family.

People suggesting 250k are ludicrous.
80-100k is the answer.
80-100k is the answer.

I love dive bars. You need to check out Lou and Bob's in Metry.

Upward mobility or striving towards it keeps people from reading their blessings. How household is higher than 200k, but 3 kids in private school / daycare / only paying cash for stuff (ramsay), doesn't make me think I'll be moving to the CCLA anytime soon.

I think the biggest factor as to how much money you have to have to be "upper middle class" is the state of the local public schools. If you have good free public schools to send your kids to, 80-100 grand per year will get you in that club living that lifestyle. If you have to send your 2+ kids to private schools, it will cost more like 130-150 grand to live that same lifestyle just due to the costs of private schools.
