Buddy of mine used to be Green Beret/HALO out of Carson. He’s out of the military these days.

LSUs geology field camp is right across the highway from Fort Carson. We used to bring a case of beer and some of Colorado’s finest herb up into the mountains at night and watch the tracers fly.

Why?

Should've enlisted Option 40.

Strykers were after my time. Only thing I can tell you is from what I’ve heard the Cav & Armor units that were swapped over to the Stryker hate the hell out of them and want their Abrams and Bradleys back.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of bad stuff about them too. Should've used LAVs instead.

I dropped a bunch of guys into Sullivan DZ at Ft. Carson yesterday from a C-130. High altitude high opening. I can’t give you anything that will put your wife at ease, sorry.
ETA: C Springs is nice to visit, so that is something.

I was there and he should love it. Carson is one of the better places to be but tell him stay away from the locals. Everyone always loves Doc and unless he is a total dirtbag he will be no exception. Great fishing an hour away, great camping, spend a lot of time away from the Springs, Manitou, etcetera. Getting laid is super easy around the slopes and better quality and the women there are just looking for a good time. I repeat the local gals are looking to get pregnant and they are slinging it. Stay Away. Don’t smoke weed there are way better drugs than that out and about that don’t stay in your system as long. Tell Have fun get a snow board.

Not sure What the popular drugs are now but when I was there a lot X, Mollie, DMT,Blow was pretty expensive ( $200 an 8ball) but decent. I was more of a shroom guy myself in the army. I was not a big drug guy before the Army and I pretty much did them every weekend while in. Also drank and or did drugs most days deployed in the Middle East a lot of that depends on what platoon he is assigned. Hopefully it’s some 19 Delta’s. Kinda funny I haven’t touched drugs since I got out years ago.

Congrats. I kind of wanted my son (a 15T) to go to Carson but they don't really have many blackhawks. Its on the way to elk camp so it would have been nice for that.

Nothing on the 1st SB though.

Anything is better than my two CONUS assignments: Polk and Bragg.

That's any military installation and he's not kidding either. Plenty of places that may not be on a command's official "off limits" list that will screw over soldiers. Basically anything that says we finance E-1 and up.

Wasn't there a rent to own place that operated solely off military installations that would sue people in court if they were behind on payments. Are those scumbags still around?
