I laugh in threads like this when the OT ballers think a bank like Cap One gives a frick about their 50k in the bank

Wells Fargo. They ended up buying my mortgage too, so it's really convenient for me.

He didn't have checks or credit cards?

She said he didn't have checks. He used credit cards for purchases until he got another debit card. It was mainly the fact that he had no access to cash that time.

I'm sure he got checks after that incident though. I mean....granted no one really uses checks anymore....you still should have some just in case.

And most credit cards allow you to pull out cash.

Having just a debit card is foolish AF

Sure. I already have a bank in mind that offers me better service for less money. Is there any reason I should stay?

Not at all. My question is as follows:

If you already have a bank in mind that offers better service for less money, why even go back and ask Capital One if they value your relationship? I assure you they will say they do, but ultimately they do not give two fricks. Especially if you go into a branch that is not the same branch you opened the accounts at. It won't even hit their scorecard.

The hassle/paperwork factor. Have to change direct deposit for work, routing numbers for monthly payments, etc. I am lazy and don't want to do it unless it will save me money.

I've run into a string of infuriating events with Capital One.
They suck from A to Z... I cant say enough bad things about them.

Hibernia should have stayed Hibernia.

To be fair, if I were dropping $84k into my account annually, I'm going to expect some respect too. Not bend over backwards type respect. However, if I am keeping an average balance of about $0.31 in my account. I have no expectations.

With the advent of online banking, that isn't as big of a hassle as you think. I'm betting you could go in a local bank and have a new account within 10 min. One email to your HR department changes direct deposit, monthly payments should be done online. It isn't that difficult.

I set my wife up in 10 minutes with Ally. Phone call with her information then emailed her office with direct deposit info. Done.

I bank with several banks. Chase is by far the best.

My biggest gripe with capital one isn't so much about respect as it is the sheer lack of common sense. Why cancel a card ahead of activating a new one? It isn't like the card was mailed 3 weeks ago, and I've been lazy to activate it. They canceled it on the very same day they mailed it. The only thing that means is that with 100 percent certainty is that your customer is getting screwed over for a window of time. How is that in any way an acceptable practice?

USAA. Awesome customer service, apps, etc. My only complaint is no longer being able to make deposits at UPS stores. They have an app for it though. I just haven't set it up.

It isn't, which is why I think you are crazy for giving them another chance to keep your business.

I guess I'm just naive to the banking world because I've been with Capital one since 2007 when I got out of high school and only in the last 6 months have I been having issues. To me each bank was just.. a bank. Nothing special or no real difference. Not sure where to go from here to be honest.
