Just ask them a higher leve question that they likely have no clue how to answer. That guy stopped saying anything to me or people on machines by me.

When someone walks away from a machine and starts doing something else, am I supposed to wait there like an obedient puppy to see if he comes back?

My gym pet peeve is people who post about going to the gym. Nobody cares.

A gym membership grants equal use of all gym equipment for every member. If you don't want to share the equipment, then stay your selfish arse home. Is it really that taxing to wait and make sure you're not interrupting someone else's workout?

quote:Exactly. So if that other person is using the machine that you walked away from, why do you get to tell them to get off of it and act like a whiny bitch when they want to finish their workout?

FTR, I have no problem with sharing a machine, but if you approach me with your current tone and act like you own the machine, I'll probably politely tell you that I'll be done in a couple minutes... and smirk while you steam.

What about douche bag cum guzzlers that respond to said 10 pm threads? What does that say about you?
You seem angry. Do you get angry very easily? Try laying off the roids for a while and see if that helps.
Technically everyone in this thread has responded to a 10 p.m. thread post, so I guess we're all douche bag cum guzzlers.

The gym expert that goes around giving unsolicited advice to everyone in the gym. Whether he knows what he's talking about or not. Dude, if anyone needs some advice, I'm sure they'll ask. Just shut up until then. The people that come in to work out and don't know what their doing. Come on, it takes 10 seconds to Google exercises. No excuse to not know what to do when you come in to the gym. Also, it's your damn fault the rest of us have to listen to the gym expert. Get your shite together.
So you hate the person that tries to fix one of the things you hate. Sounds like an exact description of half this board.
Yes, it's not complicated. The person that doesn't know what they're doing should either google/youtube, ask for help, or hire a trainer and learn. You don't just buy a gun and go shoot if you've never shot one before. You don't just put on a parachute and jump out a plane. So don't come to they gym without basic knowledge. It fricks things up for the rest of us. And it causes "gym experts" to feel needed.

People who sit on/obstruct a machine or lifting area in between sets. Just move and let others get their sets while you rest.

Nasty old guys walking around naked and chatting, acting like its the greatest day of their life.
The meatheads who carry around their giant duffle bag to each machine. What the frick is in there and why isn't it in a locker?

I never said acting like a spoiled brat if I don't get my way is my reaction. It sounds like you're the type who'd react that way.
I.e. if you're on a machine (tricep extensions) and you have a curl bar sitting next to you then why shouldn't you be able to do both lifts back to back? Your muscles have to rest between sets anyways so that leaves ample time for someone else to come in and use that machine while you either are resting or curling. The mother fricker that thinks once they're on a machine they own it is who I have a problem with.
FTR, when I do supersets I try to do each lift very close to the other so someone walking by has the opportunity to ask if I'm still using one or the other. Why does asking someone if they're finished make you so butthurt?

Damn, hit me with the "I know you are but what am I" and "butthurt" insults in one post?!
I can't recover from that.
Enjoy your supersets, bro.

Gyms are gross - just what I want to do is go wallow in someone else's sweat.

It's in proximity to bars that are open for business every time I'm done with my workout. I might not get ahead but I ain't falling back either. It's all about maintaining.

Worse, ppl who sit on the machine like a park bench between sets while carrying on long conversation with someone who comes to the gym to socialize.
