Since April 27th 2011, I have real fear of tornadoes. My wife, dog and I huddled in the middle of our apartment as that monstrosity skimmed by us. I grabbed my wife and my dog and held them as tight as I could. If we were gonna leave this earth, I wanted to make sure we were all together. The only time in my life I thought I was gonna die. My heart is racing as I type this.

I look around and don't see many people with CP who are very old so I get worried. Good to hear some do.

Truth JM I have 3 healthy teens and I am very thankful for that only thing that sucks now is that I can't protect them anymore as they start driving and facing peer pressure now. Just hope they make the right decisions.

Also, Alzheimers.
I watched my maternal grandfather and his two brothers slowly lose their mind, it was a painful thing to witness.

Wow. I faced a similar situation about 8 years ago my ex and I decided to take my 3 kids out on a paddle boat in a lake. In the distance we saw a storm approaching we could not make it back to land in time. There was lightning all around us it hit two trees around us the bark flew of the trees and it was crackling everywhere around us. My ex said in a panic voice what should we do. I said "pray". We made it out alive. No more paddle boating after that

Okay, now I feel like a jackass for my post. My biggest fear is ever getting sent back to war again.

Lego's post reminds me of what my mom must feel with my handicapped sister. And here I was scared of a stupid praying mantis.
Again, I'm so sorry Lego.

My legit greatest fear is something bad happening to my wife and kids, car wreck, home invasion while I'm not there, etc.
and marsupials because they're fast.

My grandma pasted with this also. Was weird I watched her slowly lose her mine. She was a retired English teacher. Always corrected us growing up when we didn't speak properly. As it worsened she would start talking to me and just forget everything and just start laughing at herself. She died while I was in the military.
Scruff sorry I am being Debbie downer in this thread sometimes life gets real.

Losing my son.
Dying young and he grows up without me to protect him.
Becoming homeless.
Going insane.

It really is a sobering feeling when you know there is nothing you can do but hope and pray everything works out.
Not a day goes by that I don't think about those moments. Right after, when I could tell the tornado had passed, I walked outside to see my neighborhood completely leveled.

Scruffy did not expect it to be sunshine, rainbows, and marsupials.

its not your fault so no apologies needed. Its just one of those things. I come to the OT to screw around but sometimes a thread like this pops up.
He isn't going to though.

My grandfather was a brilliant man. He programmed the computers at NASA for the first Saturn rockets. Civil War Historian and semi-pro baseball player. It was heart-wrenching to see his mind waste away.
