What are we hearing about the Camp Shelby paradrop injuries?

I'm hearing that there was no wind. Wind did not cause the problems.
What are others hearing?

It will be weeks if not months before the official cause is released IME.
Given over 80 paratroopers went into the trees it was more than one C130 involved. A C130 maxes out just over 60 paratroopers. Since it was more than one plane the paratroopers were unlikely the cause, if it had been just one plane it could have been been a slow exit that should have been red-lit. The maneuverability of a T10 canopy is so limited that from 800 ft (normal mass tac jump) it would have been basically impossible for them to steer their glide far enough off-target to be the problem.
It is therefore likely it was an issue before the green light came on telling the jumpmaster to throw everyone out.
The only issue I ever had similar to this was at DZ Sicily on Bragg when the planes came in too high, apparently 300 feet too high, and we were way off our of our intended target but still well inside the DZ. It was a daytime jump and we all knew the second we went ot the door we were too high.
The craziest thing I ever saw was a LAPES drop of a M551 Sheridan and the pilot was too high and it just hit the ground and tumbled for 200 yards like a toy. The pilots are almost always high on LAPES drops, they are supposed to be 5-10 feet off the ground but maybe 50% of them actually get that low. This one was a good 20 feet up. That was during a CAPEX at Sicily also just a couple of years after one crashed there doing the same thing.

What's the height requirement to be a paratrooper?
Rod Serling was one during WWII. He was pretty damn short.

Don't bring your experience and logic here.
It was clearly aliens that knocked them off LZ.

Could it have been a C-17?
Someone may go to jail over this incident.
They will be lucky if only their wings are taken away.

There were 3 C-130s involved with the operation if im not mistaken. They took off from the coast.
Got an update this afternoon from family that was called in to Forrest General last night. Shes a surgical tech.
18 of the 22 injured were brought to Forrest General pretty quickly. No life threatening injuries were reported. Few broken backs, collar bones, legs, arms, dislocated hip, etc.
All in all, seems like the best outcome we could have hoped for. Could have been much worse.

Not hurt from the going unto the trees, they all sustained the injuries when they cut out and fell from the trees is what is being reported. 4 are still in the hospital.

You heard this through backchannel contacts? My back channel contacts are in line with your post.
Wind not a factor. Does that match up with what you heard?

Did everyone who jumped go into the trees? Or only some of them?
On the other thread it seemed like 60-80 jumped but only about 20 went in the trees.

I have no info on that right now.
I'm trying to hear from back-channels WRT who screwed up and how. The main point I've heard right now is that Wind was not to blame for the problem.
If Wind didn't do it, then we move to human error as the cause of the problem. We'll see if anything further trickles out BUT once human error becomes the focus of the inquiry, details from back-channels become less forthcoming.
We'll see. There is no doubt that a serious 15-6 investigation is about to begin.

AFAIK there is no "height requirement" for Soldiers assigned to Airborne units and jump status.

Obviously the 4 people who down voted have never flown in the military
