I like Festival Acadien better than International but that's probably because I've never heard of 99% of the bands at International

Me too. At Festival International I end up seeking the Cajun and/or Zydeco music. Turns out the international part is not my favorite. Plus, I can sit under a canopy at Festivals Acadians and hear all of the music from the main stage.

World Famous Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival. First full weekend in May. Great Music and food.

Went to that a couple of times in the late 80's & really enjoyed. I think they only had it every other year back then.

In high school I drove contestants around town for the Miss Louisiana Watermelon Festival in Farmerville. The contest, a prelim for Miss Louisiana, was held in July in our h.s. gym that didn't have AC. Had to be one of the worst set-ups for any pageant in the state.

Did that one year. Babysat some friends dropping acid. Watched the fireworks from a boat on the river. Was a great weekend.

I went to the Gumbo Fest in Bridge City and I think I was the only person there with a full set of teeth.
