One of my best friends from high school went to UCSB.

It was tough deciding between that one and UC-Santa Cruz.

UGA is probably the top spot for all those things.

Sure plenty of schools will be better that UGA in one or two categories, but UGA fills all of those nicely.

Athens, GA is an incredible college town. Over 90 bars directly off campus, Absolutely unreal food/restaurants (when taking in relative size and demographics of Athens). Solid music scene with a few cool venues. Also 2 awesome breweries right in town (Terrapin and Creature Comforts).

Talent at UGA is great.

Their teams aren't that great, but saturdays in the fall are a huge part of UGA culture.

One of the best public schools in the south as far as academics.

Diversity in people ranging from the frattiest of bros to ultra crunchy hippies and everything in between.

And the cherry on top of it all.....Athens is CHEAP AS shite. Seriously, the COL in Athens is stupid low compared to say BR. Luxury apts right off campus for 500/month or less, 5 dollar call drinks, 3 or 4 bucks for craft beer. Great food at nice restaurants for 20 bucks/entree or less.

I honestly can't say enough about the food in Athens. I was blown away by the number of really great spots.

I was always infatuated with Texas when I was in high school. If it wasn't LSU, I would have probably went there. Decent academic school, good sports program, partying and awesome people, and Austin is probably the best college town in America. I absolutely loved LSU, but I would have loved Texas too.

Lots of people mentioning ASU, I would recommend U of A.

Tucson is much smaller than Phoenix and there is a college town vibe that is rare for a town that size.

Academics at U of A are legit, ASU lets in every bimbo who was too dumb to get into CA schools.

U of A basketball team is a contender every year. Their football team isn't doing well now but has been mediocre for most of the past decade, game days are fun.

Girls at U of A are hotter than ASU. Tempe has the quantity, but Tucson has the quality.

Tempe/Scottsdale bar scene is much better than Tucson, but there are a handful of decent places on University and 4th/Congress
