I know a guy that drives a delivery truck for Pepsi. He makes $22 hour and $33 overtime. Not a ton of money but more than I expected

I know a guy who used to work for the Ritz, and now works for MGM, I don’t know what he makes, but he’s doing well for himself (he’s in upper level management).

For those who are saying otherwise, the Walmart manager pay scale that people talking about in this thread is accurate. I left Walmart as middle management about 9 years ago. When I left, store managers made 100,000/yr. comanagers 80,000/yr, assistants 40-56k/yr. store managers could bonus up to 200k/yr for a total compensation of 300k/yr. co managers could bonus up to 25k for a total of 105k/yr. assistant bonuses were no more than 5k.

The cool part was the bonuses all came in one check. I have personally seen bonus checks that were 160k after taxes were taken out. Store managers run a business that can bring in 120,000,000 in sales per year, and the good ones put 13-15,000,000 in the bank as profit every year. They get paid well.

I made way more as a Walmart manager than I do in my current job but I had to get out before I killed myself. Walmart management deals with an uneducated workforce, corporate micromanagement, pissy members of the general public, and unrealistic goals. I am 10x happier in my current profession.

Waffle House managers make about $300k in salary and their families eat free.

Quick Trip managers make about $350k on the low end.

Tower crane operators make over $1 million in a big market like Houston.

I don’t know anybody who doesn’t make at least $150k right out of college.

You sound like most of the OT who act like making 75-100k is poor.

I used to work in budgeting for a utility, and it was probably around $70,000 15 years ago... so more like $90,000 now?

Get a business degree and then scope out "professional" jobs for the government. With geo pay, not unheard of for someone to make over $300k with only a bachelor's. Mid-career roughly half of that.

Of course, similar skills in private industry may fetch significantly more but the work/life balance is much worse.

Most River Pilots were once tug boat captains. Don't know about for the Mississippi, but those in Lake Chuck were making 150K in early 80's plus as partners in the pilots association there, annual dividends. Since technically they act as consultants to ships, zero liability but only know the river channel they are a pilot for.

I'm pretty sure that for the Mississippi the pilots are only for sections of the river, not from out at sea up to BR.

They do good nut they used to kill it in 90's and Walmart cut back their compensation plan.

Depending on the store they could make mid 6 figures.

This is correct..The guy I know retired from the state went to Walmart, took the Building Supt job. Over 30 bucks a hour, Walmart matches his 401k 6%, his family’s insurance is like 80.00 bucks a month. I was floored when I saw his check because I called BS.... he told me that Walmart doesn’t really care about shoplifting, it’s what is taken out that back door. MILLIONS!!!!!!!

All these stories of walmart managers making that kind of money are shocking to me. I'm not saying they aren't true, but I know for a fact what walmart pays their corporate finance and accounting staff in bentonville and it's very low. They can't keep anyone there very long because of it.

...and because you make $10.50 per hour. There is no way Walmart managers can make more than you.

‘Any technical sales in industry’

This is true. I’m in tech sales and I am only 9 years in. However there are folks here with 12-20 years in and make $250+
