Farmers. My grandfather died a millionaire. People talk about rappers, etc. with their $200k sports cars, and don’t think about that $300k piece of farm equipment slowing down traffic.

My ex FIL owns a paint and body shop. I not only was surprised by how much he made owning the business but that his paint and body guys were pulling close to $100k a year themselves.

I helped about 20 retire the last few years and none of them are hurting for cash! All retired between 53 and 59
What are they supporting themselves with for the next 30 years if they were making 90k per year? Is a million or so going to make for a nice retirement or will they have to be budgeting?

Walmart manager

I worked at a conventional walmart (i.e. not super center) in the mid 80s and the store manager made around 290k which was more than the DM. It was mostly bonuses that contributed to the salary. Back in the mid 80's that was quite a bit.
Store got robbed and the SM got demoted due to it. He ended up with his own store again a few years later.

I know multiple people who became millionaires from working at Publix. Store manager salary of $150k plus bonuses (can be massive depending on what store you're at) and company stock. One of them tells people he made his money from "putting cans of beans on a shelf". Not a bad way to spend 30 years.

I feel like in my profession I’m constantly sucking people off and taking it up the arse. I rather do it for real and make more money.

All these stories of walmart managers making that kind of money are shocking to me. I'm not saying they aren't true, but I know for a fact what walmart pays their corporate finance and accounting staff in bentonville and it's very low. They can't keep anyone there very long because of it.

Employees directly involved with generating profits are always going to be paid more than the finance and accounting guys.

Washington post has an article on Walmart store manager salaries. It states the average is 175k. Impressive.

How did that lawsuit ever come out where the retired judge was put in charge of deciding if they were getting paid too much?

WalMart Superstores are basically giant plants. I would expect plant managers to make good money.

Walmart as some have said.. Managers, Asst Managers, Support, and Building Supt. Each store may have 10 total and base bonus on the stores shrink. Stores run through hundreds of minimum wage employees a year rather than hire qualified people. Those at the top make good money and have great benefits.

My wife just took a job making 70k salary. If she bonuses every quarter which is probably not likely she would make 110k. As an assistant grocery manager. You can think I am exaggerating if you want but it is the truth.
