I'm definitely doing the Sports Bar/BWW thing at Forever House. A bunch of smaller screens mounted high and 1 main display.

Door closers. The old ones could be dialed in and adjusted perfectly. These new ones are either to weak or they will take your fingers off.

According to this guy, Lodge pans are intentionally not as smooth as the old pans because they wanted to go to a pre-seasoning process.
Identifying vintage cast iron.
I also learned they my grandmother's old pan is most likely from Birmingham Stove and a pre-1960 model.

The finest treated decking screws Home Depot had! the lake does fluctuate some so the deck has been under probably 4 or 5 times in that timeframe.
Like I said, wrong hardware. Regular decking screws aren't made to be in areas with constant water and humidity exposure. Stainless steel fasteners are Recommended in this case.

Stainless steel fasteners and connectors are required for permanent wood foundations below grade and are recommended for use with treated wood in other severe exterior applications, such as swimming pools, salt water exposure, etc. Type 304 and 316 grades are recommended for these uses.

Cars. Fuel efficiency is great but most cars are cookie cutter pieces of garbage
You've never driven 70's/80's cars?
I think due to improved manufacturing techniques and tolerances, cars are lasting longer than ever. Hell most cars don't even require a tune up anything other than air filters and oil changes until over 100k miles.

I'm gonna go with streaming music vs CD's based on sound quality alone. Also, I used to enjoy going into a music shop and be able to shop around rather than surfing a site.
Don't get me wrong, it's convenient as hell to stream because you don't have CDs all over the place and you can listen anywhere on any device.
I just wish it was still the same with music shops in addition to streaming music, rather than streaming music killing the idea of music shops and buying CDs.

I remember when 100K miles for cars was impressive and also a death sentence/money pit for some engines. Now it's nothing.

CJ >>> YJ >>> TJ & JK Jeeps
There's a reason a good old CJ is still worth so damn much.
Let's not get carried away here... I've owned all of those and still have an '83 CJ7, '07 XJ and a '13 JK. There really isn't a single thing "better" on a CJ7... other than the ease of swapping out a small block Chevy engine perhaps.

Add pork and chicken to the list. Pork is generally too lean these days and lacks the flavor of heritage breeds that were finished off on acorns/beech mast. If you can ever get your hands on meat from a berkshire hog, get it. Store bought chicken lacks the chickeny flavor of true yard birds or older breeds that weren't bread to produce as much meat as a small turkey.

the old plasma televisions. the dark blacks of these TVs has never been re-created with the new dominant TV tech (LED, etc). and this isn't from memory, i am literally sitting in my living room with an almost 10 year old plasma
I agree with this. 2006 Panasonic 42" was stolen in November. Still pissed. Still better than the led I got now.

Yeah cars last longer are more fuel efficient etc but they lack style now a days

I am not speaking in terms of just everyday driving. In terms of durability and off-road use, the CJs are better. Like I said, there's a reason the CJs are still so valuable and many sell for more than a newer YJ. The majority of people that do "rock crawling" prefer to build those machines out of CJs for a reason.

There's something satisfying about slowly building your music collection that was lost with this easy access of streaming anything that you can think of. I don't think I can say that it was better, but I do feel some nostalgia for it. There's something overwhelming about the choices available that changes how we consume music and not necessarily for the better.

Yeah - if you collected LPs, cassettes, CDs 8-tracks or some combination, there is a certain connection to the music by handling the physical media that just isn't there with digital only music. I'm re-ripping my CDs to FLAC as an ongoing project and I know exactly what you mean.

And I'll add batteries. Like the household kind. A set of AA's used to last a decade
