I've never seen so many middle-aged, probably overweight/unhappily married men pile on someone like we see on this site w/Taylor Swift. There's a thread a week.
If you wanna know what's so appealing, she's a super-talented musician(plays 4 instruments proficiently) and songwriter who appeals to women from teens to 40-some-things. She is also arguably the greatest musical entertainer on the planet.
Does she have the greatest voice? No. But her musicianship and performance art makes up for it. And she writes good songs.
ETA: She is also a great role model for girls and is a very nice person by all accounts. She pays her staff handsomely

She's an ok singer, a mediocre dancer, a pretty good songwriter and a very good song picker. Also she or someone in her management has a business sense to rival any corporate captain of industry. She's an empire builder.
