Officially?

Like I said, planes were flying on 9/11

Small airport has a strip that can land almost anything and lots of unpublished landings of royalty from all over the world and POTUS as well. The character "Goldfinger" was based on a real life person who used to fly in and out of the airport in his heyday. Always funny that college town was host to British royal family (BP Oil), Middle Eastern oil, and Texas oil all in one place several times a year.

Back in the 70's when the Shah was still in power, his personal pilots trained at a little base near another SEC city.

AF1 can use shorter runways b/c it'll take off without nearly as much fuel b/c it will refuel at the next stop. So yea they can land it at BTR then at say MSY, refuel, then go anywhere.

AF1 can refuel midair. Thought that was common knowledge.

I know it defeats the story, but there were LOTS of planes in the sky. shite tons.

They were Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps planes, but they were definitely in the sky.

Well damn. They took my money yet with a History/poli sci degree I had to learn this from you baws on the OT. 10 freaking miles away...you’d think it would have been mentioned at some point in the endless hours of courses across the social science sphere!

Did you graduate in 98?

Lots of good history they don't teach, which is why we keep repeating it.

Do kids today even know there was a Shah in Iran?

As a country we are less knowledgable about what goes on globally but can tell each other what the Kardashians wore on TV last night.

Her school, Stockwell Elementary, wasn't far from base.

Small world, I was in 2nd Grade at that school at that time. My mom was and still is a teacher there.

What grade did the teacher that called you teach?
