When there was an actual pandemic and people were staying at home cuz ya know, the virus was still very present and no vaccines were rolling out, yes, Trump distributed free money for small business who needed them at the time.

Now that the virus is under control (for the MOST part), and many many Americans are vaccinated and now have the complete opportunity to be vaccinated, we should be wide the frick open.

But dems are holding onto the pandemic and keep shelling out free money to lazy fricks. I work in an industry that's being hit hard right now with no workers to find. Dems shell out money in times when its not necessary.

I've never doubted the intelligence and raw political competence of Democrats in government; it's the voters that have room temperature IQ.

So how is this the fault of democrats then?

Because now that we are through the toughest times of the pandemic
They are states that want to remain closed and keep the unemployment benefits going

Show me some statistics that this is true. Just because you repeat it over and over again doesn't make it so.

Places have been back to business as usual for what, a month?

You can't just staff back up overnight

CA and NY are, right? All he did was add another to the list of places still closed down.

Interesting to see a plan come together that increases wages without the government mandating an increase?
The government is mandating an increase in wages for certain jobs without coming out and saying it because of the federal unemployment benefit makes being unemployed just as lucrative as working for a lot of people.

If you were working full time @ $15/hour, you make $600/week by working 40 hours. Or you can stay home and get around $550/week combined LA and federal unemployment for doing nothing all day and just pretend to apply to a few jobs.

Its why the eviction moratorium was asinine. Its not like all those renters suddenly were without an income. Many of them were making just as much on unemployment as they were making before covid.

This is the #1 talking point of the OT, but I've yet to see one shred of actual evidence presented that it's true.

My sister-in-law is the manager at a Pet Smart and she has told us numerous times that they can't get people to come back to work and she's been explicitly told it's because the increased unemployment benefits are enough to live on.

I'm sure you won't accept that as "evidence", but you have to be a fricking idiot not to see what's going on.
