fricking Emeril’s
If I were to guess this would be my first answer. Just because its Emeril's. Just like anything else, I am sure there is some lobbying going on or this person knows that person.. Maybe even incentive to whoever can influence whoever makes decisions.. Because I am sure having this means they can bump the prices up a little bit. The advertising for having it, etc. So when you factor in reality, it makes perfect sense.

Actually, we don’t want your answer.
Pretty sure we already know it.

As echoed throughout the thread -
If commenting on emerils, you really need to put the year of your last visit.
It re-opened as a completely different restaurant. Same name, different universe of expectations.

Is this the only menu option for Emeril's? Do you have to get that tasting menu or are there other choices? I would not eat any of that
Texas Roadhouse is more of your speed.
They don't have icky ingredients.

Yes and no. In the main dining room, yes. In the Wine Bar you have more options and unless it has changed in the last couple of months you can get the BBQ shrimp that someone was bemoaning the loss of.
I am curious, the fish course is trout or grouper, you don't eat either? The meat course is duck or beef, that is off your menu as well?
Tasting menus require a bit of adventure. If you play along I almost guarantee you will be amazed at something almost every time. You will also learn there are things you just won't ever like, even Thomas Keller can't convince me to like tripe for example. I keep a mental catalog of the best dishes I've ever eaten and almost all of them came from tasting menus. The best bites of food I have ever put in my mouth came from a tasting menu at Redd in Napa Valley (sorry Chef Keller) and while it was not a dish I would not order (petrole sole with a saffron curry nage) I would not have considered it that night or most any night as my single entree.
There is nothing wrong with not liking haute cuisine or disliking the concept of a tasting menu but it is an incredible way to eat a wide variety of food you might not ever experience and this is coming from someone who is often boring and orders the same entree at restaurants I don't go to often to avoid disappointment or maybe just to recreate the reason I fell in love with the place to begin with.
ETA autocorrect made up a whole new category of food: hate cuisine

2 bucks you’ve never been to a Michelin star restaurant

Emerils is good, but it’s no where near the best New Orleans has to offer. It could be the best restaurant in most cities, but it’s not the best in New Orleans.
You must. not get around. Most major American cities have ten restaurants better than the best of NOLA. Where NOLA thrives, and is perhaps the best in America, is in the mid price point restaurants.

Seriously. It’s hipster town. Of course you shouldn’t wander the neighborhoods off the main streets, but the “Ermagherd!! I’m gonna get murdered at a high end restaurant on St Claude” is some serious weak shite from a guy who probably calls himself an “alpha” and others “cucks” a lot.

Last night I passed and two good ole boys had their F350's parked in the neutral ground out front of Morrows.
Nice looking trucks actually.

I’m not saying this to be mean, but just asking this question means a 2 Star restaurant isn’t for you.
There’s nothing wrong with that.

Emeril’s is very overrated. Got food poisoning there once. Won’t go back.
Once again. I seriously doubt you have been to This Emeril’s.

The trout may be the only thing I'd eat. I would need to have the flexibility to choose between different options for the rest.

Some of us are OT & IRL poor. At this point in my life, I’m not dropping $200 to taste things I can’t pronounce and may not even like
