You have no idea what the hell you are talking about. The guy was seconds away from entering that store with a deadly weapon. The officers' job was to STOP the threat of serious bodily injury or death to others, PERIOD. They did their job well and eliminated this POS before he hurt or killed innocent bystanders. Job well done Lafayette PD !

So you think we have the best cops? Y’all bash every other government professional. Doctors, lawyers, engineers that work for the government do a shitty job yet cops are never in the wrong. Their job is tough...

I think it was unnecessary to shoot ten times, just as it was unnecessary for Chauvin to kneel on Floyd. So often the cops are victims of the bad optics they create.

Shell Station 2103 NW Evangeline Thruway. Is this in the hood? Are they protesting Shell itself or this particular station? Does Shell support this protest?

They did there job well they just went overboard on the number of shots. Dude was trying to get in the store with a knife when he had been told to stop.

They shot until the threat was stopped. A drugged up person does not immediately go down with a shot unless it's directly in the spine, heart, or the head. You can easily fire 3 shots in less than a half second. Combine that w/ three officers and that is instantaneous.

This take is blindingly stupid. for years on this board MANY posters have been very vocal in their calls for either various police reforms or directly calling out individual police when a shooting or incident goes bad. These arguments back and forth have been some of the more epics disagreements here.
So clearly there has always been a contingent of posters who have been more than happy to call out bad police behavior. Suggesting there hasn't been is just a lie.
Problem we face now is that there seems to be NO amount of criminality of violence that will justify lethal force on the part of LEOs for some people. We now got a situation in the country where criminals have been told they are free roam around committing acts of violence and property destruction without consequence. And what happens when a LEO steps up and does their job and enforces the law and uses what has always been understood as appropriate force? People start screaming racism and police brutality and rioting starts...

When there are 7-8 cops following the guy, every one of them must open fire? And multiple times? 1-2 shots to the back and he’s on the ground.
