He's referring to them. Not so much the ones that are specifically only against the COVID vaccinations (although most of those people are equally as stupid if we're being honest)
So the Covid vaccines work as well as the polio vaccines?

To be fair, the initial polio vaccines were terrible and killed a shitload of people. It took some trial and error to get them right.

Polio is not completely eradicated in parts of the 3rd world in particular Asia.
There were less than 10 cases of wild-type poliovirus type 1 reported in the last three reservoir nations so far in 2022. That is down from a total of 176 in 2021 and 140 in 2020. It's all but effectively eradicated, due to mainly how it is transmitted, which is fecal-oral and less commonly through pharyngeal secretions. There are cases of vaccine-poliovirus, which is a pretty good example of what happens when there is a poor overall vaccination strategy in a country, as the circulation period is increased, and the vaccine-derivative gains more biologic properties associated with the wild-type virus.

You are apparently an idiot. When you let people in from third world countries with no real health care system they bring over diseases that aren't an issue here.

Would be pretty stupid to not get the polio vaccine since it, you know, actually works
Unless you were one of the millions that got polio from the vaccine.

Millions of people are getting polio from the vaccine right now?
Or are you furthering the argument that maybe blind trust in the covid vaccine isn't such a great idea? Either way, you aren't making the point I'd imagine you intended to make. Good job

For the resident people that are vaccinated against polio it shouldn't be an issue for them either. However it is an issue for the healthcare system that has to take care of these immigrants coming in with polio.

If you read the article, it said that the type of polio the patient had originated from the oral polio vaccine, not wild-type polio. So, if i’m not mistaken, someone got the oral vaccine and it gave them polio. The US polio patient was either the one who got the oral vaccine or someone who was infected by the person who got the oral vaccine. And the oral vaccine is only given in other countries.

im not an anti vaxxer in the traditional sense at all but this is retarded. This kind of stuff happens because of it coming from the 3rd world countries and people coming illegally.

In most parts of the world polio has been eradicated. One of the few places where cases remain is Afghanistan. So it would be a thank you to the Brandon administration for allowing large numbers of migrants from that country.

There were around 9 cases of Vaccine-associated polio in the US every year between 1961 and 1997, and strictly limited to the OPV vaccine. The removal of one specific wild-type virus, which I believe has been completely eradicated, decreased the incidence by approximately 60%. The overall risk for developing serious complications was about 1 per 1 million, in contrast to the wild-type virus, where the ratio was 5,000 per 1 million. Before you morons start screeching, the comparison is relevant, because in both cases, we are comparing the immunogen to immunogen.
