What's the LSPD? Call the local DA's office to see if you can have your violation reduced to non-moving. You will still have to pay a fine and most likely take an on-line driver safety course, but at least it won't go on your insurance.

If your record is clean go to court and ask to article 894 it. You will still pay court cost and non moving violation fine but it want hit your driving record.

How does that work out for you?

Pleaded that once already about 4 years ago. I don't speed very often at least knowingly. Since 15 I've had two tickets.

I really had no idea it was a 45. The road it intersects is 55. I usually go 20 because it's a school zone, but I knew there was no school today so I figured I'd roll through.

May I make a suggestion? If you take it to court, don't bother arguing that you thought you were only speeding by 4 mph. They may be entertained, or they may be pissed off by that, but it's pretty much guaranteed to not help you.

I'm beating a dead horse here, but something just occurred to me. He didn't even run my license number. I gave him an expired insurance card(the up to date ones were in the glove box). He did not say anything about it. He barely gave me shite about my address not being current. Is this protocol?

I would definitely go to court and make sure to tell the judge that. He will probably throw the ticket out and reprimand the officer in front of the court.
