I'll be hitting TPC Friday. Course closes on Monday I believe to prepare it for the PGA tournament.

Possibly play Audubon on Saturday.

What you got?

It'll be my first time. City Park was a dust bowl. The greens were in decent shape, but everything else was super rough.

Besides where you are playing, what has everyone been working on?

I've been working on alignment and it has helped tremendously.

Making sure I'm aligned correctly to the target has changed the way I think about the game.

I was always worried about doing a move with my swing but I wasn't really paying attention to alignment.

Its incredible how easy it is to mis-align when setting up.

I guarantee almost all double digit handicaps are misaligned on every shot.

Alignment is hugely important and is often overlooked by the weekend player.

its still pretty shitty, although I heard they got a new superintendent and plan on dumping some of the Howell money into it.

I just need somewhere close early Sunday for a quick round.

I've never thought too much about alignment and probably fall into this category. How are you working on this? I just purchased some alignment sticks this weekend, and will probably do some work on this Saturday

As for myself, Ive mainly been focusing on consistent ball striking/contact lately

Spent last Friday at the range working on my grip and getting the shoulders a little more level. This was a bad idea as I'm now chunking the ball again. I recently fixed that problem and it's reared it's douchebag head again.

I'm working on leading with my hips. I knew my shots were weak & inconsistent, but I couldn't figure out what my coach meant about being all arms. It turns out I've been kinda leading my downswing with my arms, not my hips. I watched some Ben Hogan style training videos, and it clicked. Totally changed the way I think about swinging, and I'm already noticing a lot more consistency & distance.

No solid plans on a round yet, but loads of range time planned at lunch every day.

accuracy through consistent ball striking (tempo). I'm tired of having to scramble for my 77-85. I want to start scoring again and get back down to <76 scores like I was in college

Putting the ball in the fairway off the tee. I'm losing a ton of strokes by being in terrible positions when I hit driver.

I played there Friday. You might want to think about the NOLA card. It could save you money if you're going to play there much. Might go again Saturday or Sunday. Supposed to rain thru Thursday.

That NOLA card is legit but I play basically for free anyway.

I dont have a driving range anywhere near my house so I bought a net for the backyard and a little hitting pad. Been working on tempo in my swings and making sure i have good rotation rather than sliding like I've been known to do.

Also I bought a pitching/chipping net so ive been pitching the ball across my yard into the net. well towards the net anyway, about 15% go in, but its a tiny net!!

Everytime i go out I cant do anything if i miss the green, hoping to fix that.
