Most lines were at least an hour long, anything that looked remotely delicious was about 2 hours wait around normal eating times.
Wow, that's one of the best exaggerations I've ever seen on the OT! That's saying something! Congrats!
I've been to Food and Wine at really crowded times. I don't think I ever waited more than 20 minutes.

Cruise or WDW....which do you recommend for little ones (under 10)?
Depends on the age. Under 3, WDW for sure. They are free and don't require a ticket nor do they cost anything at any restaurant. If they are 3-5 and still use a stroller, still probably WDW. The key height points start about 40".
Basically anything with a shoulder harness is 48" (Space Mtn, Primevil Whirl, etc) but things with a lap belt have much shorter requirements.
Once they hit 7-9 WDW is hard because it's so much walking so if you do WDW it gets expensive and you actually get less done. The other caveat is when kids are older, unless you pull them from school you're going when the parks are the busiest so with a cruise, it doesn't ever get THAT crowded.
Maybe book a land/sea trip. They have 4 day bahamas cruises that leave on a Monday on the Disney Dream so theoretically you can fly into Orlando on Friday evening, do the parks on Saturday and Sunday. Then take 4 day cruise (which gets back on Friday) and have Friday afternoon and Saturday for more parks if you want and fly home Sunday. It's a little more expensive but the best of both worlds

We actually priced this last night and a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas during the third week of May (after our daughter gets out of school) for a room with a balcony the 4 night cruise (for two adults and one child) was a little over $3k

Congrats, I waited in one of the shorter lines. Not an exaggeration. It was ridiculous that week. As I have said, it was more crowded than anything I have seen in summer. I don't think I have ever seen that many people in Epcot and I have been for Christmas week.

Unless it was a make to order booth, they can cycle through the crowd in very quick order. There are numerous customer service team members that roam the WS constantly making sure wait times don't get that long. The beer booth in Germany can get pretty backed up with the beer flight pours but a CS team member usually will be not far away and will jump in and start helping to move the line quickly. There may have been a mechanical breakdown that caused such long wait times but it is not the norm even during peak times.

The whole day was pretty bad. Lines were shorter during off peak eating times. It may have just been a week when they expected smaller crowds and didn't have the staffing level to keep up with the crowd that showed up. Just wasn't a good experience, F&W regulars were complaining.

There is absolutely no way every booth had a 2-3 hours wait...it was a MAJOR exaggeration. Epcot can't even hold that many people to have 30 booths all with all with a wait over AT LEAST two hours, plus have the published wait times that they had at the attractions.

Went in October and on a Friday night ( assume lots of locals came) it was really crowded. People were parking on the grass cause the lot was full. NEVER seen that before at WDW.

Yeah, I will give you that post I made was exaggeration, I revised it in a later post you can see quoted later. The rides weren't bad at all, except Soarin' which is it's own special hell, people were there for the F&W festival.

European trash
Euros aren't bad in my opinion. It's the South Americans that walk side by side 10 across. That's when I play Ping Pong South American, shoulder check the line into a friend that will shoulder check them the other way. See how many bounces you can get in.
