This was the result of my 3rd shot into the 18th at TPC from about 180. Dropped the putt for a cool 96

Moral of this story is you can hit the occasional great shot even after you've spent all day drinking 60 proof mint juleps and smoking stogies.

ETA: This was the first time I've picked up my clubs since my daughter was born last October, so be gentle with my score.

79 at Olde Oaks yesterday...greens are absolute garbage($16 on teeoff.com). 74 at Stonebridge today....greens were very nice($43 on teeoff.com).

Probably spend the afternoon at 265 tomorrow....won a 3rd place prize in a scramble about a month ago. Perfect weather...might as well make a day of it out there tomorrow and work on my short game.

Played Bayou Oaks for the first time yesterday. Greens are rolling great but they are very firm and don't hold approach shots that well which is to be expected from a new course. Fairways are in perfect shape. It's a fun track for the weekend warrior but I don't think it's hard enough for the tour pros. It's very open out there, and the water hazards don't come into play as much as you'd think just looking at the course layout. The greens are pretty big but are fairly flat. I don't remember any three tiered greens or anything like it. I'll definitely be playing it a lot living in Lakeview, but was a little bit disappointed since everyone said the pro tournament is moving there eventually. TPC is harder than this course

I agree, had a change of plans so headed to TPC this morning, I guess it'll be good to get a practice round in before a tourney there Thursday. I haven't played TPC in over a year, played Bayou Oaks the last two Sunday's and agree with your assessment of it.

We ended up at Black bear yesterday. Fired an 83. Hit it pretty well minus a couple of blow up holes.

Super slow play on the back nine...killed my focus. -1 on the front and +3 on the back. 2 of us played thru a foursome on 11, then caught up to a fivesome on 12 who wouldn't let us play thru....HATE fockers like that.

How is it? I've still never played there, only courses I've played in North La was Frenchman's Bend in high school and Squire Creek last year.

Black Bear could be a real gem for the state but the upkeep is simply not there - still a nice course when I was there earlier this year.

The lack of funds really shows in the bunkers and some of the general maintenance.

It's in good shape except for the fairway bunkers. Apparently maintaining 500 bunkers is too much for a state ran golf course so they quit trying and just keep the greenside bunkers up. Other than that it's nice. Greens are slick as owl shite.
