St Augustine. Fly into Jacksonville and rent a car. It is less than a hour away. Lots of great historic places to stay or you can get a place on St Augustine Beach. Great food and a really fun bar scene.

A trip to cancun is pretty easy to pull off.
Maybe a nice resort in the hill country north of Austin

Looks like the OP wants a direct flight to his destination.

Don Cesar in St. Pete is great. I went on a girls' trip, but it could be very romantic as well.

Don Cesar is the top place on my list in St Pete. I think this is going to be the place.

Seems like y'all are looking for something more chill, but Nashville is my wife's favorite 4-day spot.

We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel one time-and it's super nice, but it's far from downtown. Next time we stayed downtown-they have a really nice Hilton smack dab in the middle of Broadway.

I am seriously thinking about going to don cesar in st pete now for our 10 year anniversary this summer (assuming we will still be married then).

My only reservation is I think I will miss my young kids too much when I see everyone else's rug rats running around

Does anyone know of a place like this but adults only?

Trying to agree to take a nice trip for my husband but I'm one of ose moms that misses my babies when I'm away.

Also trying to keep it within a direct flight of Nola airport. Key west is a thought but husband buts a good beach. I'm good with anything.

Southwest is ending their direct flights from NOLA to Key West in June.

Key west sucks for beaches but it's fun to visit.

Look into flying SW into Tampa and driving down to Siesta or Longboat Key both by Sarasota. Or Marco Island. Cheaper to fly in Tampa than Sarasota. Beautiful beaches, great restaurants and warm. Siesta and Marco beaches have been recognized as some of the best.

Dang. Good to know. anniversary is in July. Back to the drawing board.

Really looking at that don Cesar place at st Pete. I probably just need to put my big girl panties on and get over the fact that there will be kids around us at any location we pick. I'm sure ill be missing mine no matter what and I just need to enjoy this trip and one on one time with the hub.
