Is the subject of this thread about the whole wedding or is it about the rehearsal dinner?

Why are you always such an a-hole? Your post made it sound like you were talking about the wedding itself and your post immediately before the one I quoted was discussing the entire wedding.

You’re putting your own meaning into my words. I was talking about paying for the rehearsal dinner, which is the custom, and is the subject at hand.

My first post was about paying for the rehearsal dinner. My second post was to commend the venue on how well they did everything. I never claimed to pay for the whole wedding. The only reason you took it that way is you want to paint me as an a-hole. You are the one taking what I said wrong just to be an a-hole and a troll. You don’t like me, for some reason I don’t understand, you have a problem with me, and you constantly try to start shite with me.

I never claimed or alluded to paying for the whole wedding. Stop trying to hijack the thread with your typical trolling bullshite obsession with me.

I asked you a question because what you expressly wrote was ambiguous. Good lord.

Yes, your second post was about the entire wedding despite the “subject at hand”. That’s my point.

you’re overly sensitive, Darth. Not everyone is out to get you.

You made your reply before I even posted my second post. And again, in that second post, I never said anything about paying for the whole wedding. All I did was commend the wedding venue. So how was my second post the basis of your point if I had typed it out yet?

For my oldest son, we had a two pirogue back yard rehearsal banquet . One boat with iced beer and one with boiled crawfish. Great event, loose and happy

You’ve already strayed from the subject matter by discussing the entire wedding. I also didn’t realize that subjects were so strictly policed on the OT.

You claimed to not understand what I was saying based on a post I hadn’t even made yet. And now you’re lashing out and insulting me because I pointed this out.

Just stop. You’re hijacking the thread and making a complete arse of yourself on the process.

I greeted everyone. Introduced my wife and future in laws. In advance, I asked my son and future daughter in law to introduce the brides maids and groomsmen. They appreciated that.

Other parents spoke. Don’t make it too formal. Save that for the wedding.

Enjoy it. It will go by very quickly.

Congratulations!

We just focused on hosting a nice dinner with the wedding party and the bride’s family as a way to say thank you.

We all agreed speeches are just a corny and cliched tradition. None of us wanted the focus to be on us individually. We wanted the focus to just be about gratitude for the occasion and their participation. So after dinner and before dessert, my wife and I just stood up and said thank you to everyone in our own way.

It’s not the tone or length you want for the reception, but the advice he gave was spot on for marriage.

You should absolutely have a conversation with you son along those lines
