I've been out of following this for a few hours. Has this lived up to the concern shown earlier? Or are these people catching a break?

Tornado outbreaks are streaky as hell. Could have multiple F3+ go through open fields and it's a bust, but one or two hitting a town and it's a tragedy.

It's not even 5PM and there are multiple tornado warnings throughout the area. It's mostly living up to the potential so far.

Guess they cut Mike Bettes from live chasing after he led the team into outer bands of a multi vortex tornado that flipped the vehicle

It is still staying relatively calm southeast of I44.

Do we expect these storms to ever line up and travel more eastward?

I used to storm chase some during my college years and never understood the people that wanted to get really close to the tornado. It’s just stupid.

I don't think they send any of their people into an actual storm (tornado) chase since then

all their people find a spot and stay there until the event ends and hopes they get something interesting

any chasing video is now contracted out (i.e. SevereStudios or local storm chasers)

I am with you there. Like a pretty supercell, can see those from a distance. There's an adrenaline aspect for the people who want to get too close.

That's the real deal.

And the cell we've been watching for a while now. Makes you glad it was the only one to fire and sustain out front.
