I wasn't a candidate for LASIK due to my cornea being too thin. So they performed the procedure called PRK. I don't think I saw it mentioned in this thread. Anyway, I had it done 12 years ago and my vision is still great. However, if you hear your doctor mention PRK, do a little research first. It was the most painful experience of my life. The Dr. doesn't cut you eye like LASIK...they instead scrape the epithelial tissue from your eye and then do the laser. The procedure was a piece of cake but the recovery was a motherfricker. It takes about a week to heal but I had to wear sunglasses in or out the house 24/7 for that week. The first 2 days after surgery I couldn't open my eyes. He told me the recovery was longer and more painful than LASIK but better in the long run bc that's the surgery they perform on athletes, cops, etc due to not having to cut the eye.

Lasik eye surgery can make glaucoma related treatments more difficult, more dangerous and less effective.

Glaucoma occurs in about 1.9% of the population in the U.S., the majority African American and Hispanic, if you happen to be white the risk is a fraction of the overall.

I wear contacts but they cause me zero trouble. No dry eyes. No issues. So, I'm unlikely to get lasik unless I start having issues.

Just did the same thing.

Had LASIK done in 2013. Still see distance fine, which absolutely sucked prior to procedure.

Started noticing the ticker at the bottom of the tv being blurry at times. Then noticed it was after reading up close or looking at my phone, then back at the tv.

Just got checked last week. Old age settling in so they suggested getting 1.00 drug store glasses to read to not strain up close reading and the distance won't be blurry after.

Has been perfect doing this.
