What will Wednesday tell you about the effects of cannabis? It's not supposed to cure cancer. It's supposed to treat the pain, and it's apparently already done that.
There is an abundance of evidence that cannabinoids are effective beyond pain management in the treatment of cancer.

I would tell a family member with a medical need for cannabis to move to a legal state and get all they want. I know an elderly person with Cancer from Louisiana that did just that. He lives in Colorado and his cancer treatments are going well.
Otherwise, the only options are find a drug dealer or drive to a legal state. Buy what you need and travel back. Of course you breaking a good many laws doing either of those options.

Moving isn't an option. His only family is here in Louisiana and I help take care of him.

My cousin in California shipped a tub of cannabis butter to my dad in Lousiana when he was battling (won) cancer...

When is his next check up? If his numbers continue to drop and he continues to improve physically, you should tell the doc.

Charlie you game for getting me info on this? I'm not the cops man.

FYI, doctors ask about illegal drug use all the time. They do not report that information to the authorities, as that would break HIPAA laws and betray the doctor patient relationship.

Maybe he should. Could help another patient of this Dr. in the future. Now the Dr. thinks his treatment is working. Or it actually is and your cannabis oil is crap.

There is no reason to ban cannabis and cannabis oil, especially for medical purposes. The evidence of its benefit is undeniable.
Jeff Sessions disagrees

Was coming here to say doctors won't/can't report drug use as it violates HIPAA.
IMO, OP's dad should tell his doctor, but it isn't my choice.

I know, it was just a stupid joke. I think it's laughable that marijuana is still illegal and is a schedule I drug.

Correct as frick. Jeff Sessions has a hard on going after recreational marijuana. Guess who lines his pockets with political donations? You guessed it. The anti-marijuana big money alcohol lobby. Always follow the money.
