This has frick all to do with not wanting to give the government even more of my money.

It's either you or the ones who consume. Are you okay with people on food stamps being allowed to purchase copious amounts of soda and little Debbie's?

We should legalize marijuana, tax that, have a transparent tax revenue website where the public can literally see the dollars coming and where they are being allocated.

Then put the money into our schools across the board and part of that new funding, they should require a REAL health class and a REAL financial intelligence class.

Required in all schools. Every year.

Learn what processed food and sugar does to your body in the first class, in addition to the importance of moving around more. Then learn things like taxes, mortgages, and compounding interest (especially in regards to debt) in the other class. Two hours each, twice a school year, starting in 1st grade.

Vote for me, CatfishJohn. For a better future.

I don't particularly give a frick. They waste their money and don't get full off their allowance, that's on them.

Money isn’t the problem with schools. Why do people want to keep throwing money at this issue?

It's not the only problem or the biggest, but it is a problem. Absolutely it is. And my proposal is entirely new revenue paying for outside resources (think DARE, but for not being a fatass and not being a dumbass with money).

The biggest problem in our schools, I believe, is in the home.

Why is fast food any more unhealthy than say Hooters? We gonna start taxing pizza places too? Ice cream shops?

I agree with OPs general point, but this is a great point.

Applebees and Wingstop have entrees that reach 2000 calories.

I eat around 5-6 meals a day and still top out around, 2500 calories on training days. Meanwhile people frequent these places and eat that in one sitting

It’s not.

Same place nutrition and financially literacy should be taught.

It's not about fast food. You can lose weight eating fast food. It's the calories. Therefore. Tax all hypor-caloric food? So basically tax all the cheap food in America?

Why bother taxing it, just keep raising the minimum wage for fast food workers.... it has the same effect, and some of that 'raise' will got to Feds to piss away, and some to the state (so they can piss it away).

And do they not eventually use taxpayer funded Healthcare services? Do they not vote to get MORE funding to their cause?

Why do you apply no conditions to receiving benefits and permit 100% destructive lifestyles?

I don't care if they understand, they cost more money in the end because we allow them to use taxpayer programs to induce more costs on the public.

You're in lala land if you think our populace would ever let anymore just go without, even if they make a lifetime of bad choices. See the current criminal justice perspectives being implemented into actual policy.

Should we tax those with genetic predisposition to disease more than others?
