~75% of abortions in the United States are low income people. Forcing them to have those kids would push them farther into poverty and increases the chances of the child living a life in poverty.

Comparing abortion to the Holocaust isn't hyperbole at all...
Conservatives attack this issue the wrong way (government ban), and it's going to make it increasingly difficult to win elections and follow through with other conservative goals.
You don't have to ban abortions to get fewer people to go through with them. Look at smoking. It's legal and still too many people do it. BUT it's been on the decline for years.
The answer also isn't abstinence-only education.

Because of a million obvious reasons, chief of which being that even if I wanted to, I lack the resources.
Now you answer my question:
Is killing innocent human beings right or is it wrong?

Here's the problem with all this.
Our society will always be made up of a majority of stupid people who don't give a shite about what they do and how it affects others.
Fix that and you'll fix 85% of the problems in the country.
Yeah, our world is full of idiot assholes. Plain and simple.

Answer something for me. Why didn't Christians care about abortion before it started getting pushed as a political issue in the late 70s/ early 80s?
Catholics only issue with it before then was the same issue they had with condoms, they viewed only as contraception.
Hell, even the Southern Baptist Convention originally praised the Supreme Court's in Roe v Wade for protecting religious liberty, equality, and justice. Their official stance in their own doctrine was one of pro-choice.
It wasn't until 6 years after Roe v Wade in 1979 that christians began to about face at the behest of conservative politicians in an effort to consolidate christians together into one voting block, the "moral majority". It worked fricking brilliantly too, credit where credit is due.
But I'd love to hear you explain that one. Let me get a whiff of that ocean of Kool aid they've been drowning you in for the last 40 years

People that support the killing of innocent human beings are wrong. There, that was easy.

Link?
Also, being in favor of abortion or at least not decidedly opposing abortion before you've seen an ultrasound is one thing. Supporting abortion after you have seen an ultrasound is different.
I realize that ultrasounds don't change the reality of what's going on, but they do increase the clarity as to what is going on and remove all doubt about what you are supporting or doing.
Doctors that perform abortions are people I never want to encounter.

You mean like those who refuse to acknowledge the scientific fact that human life begins at the moment of conception and continue to put their fake excuses forward so that they can enjoy sex without consequence (to them), and then violently shout you down with insults if you dare question their feelings? Yeah I hate those people.

How dull-brained can one be and still think themselves an intellectual? You will show us, no doubt.
But please enlighten me as to how science permits you to clearly see a human being being killed and still maintain that that isn't what's happening.
I'm not talking about how you FEEL about abortions, a point that no one gives a shite about. I'm talking about your rationale.
The FACT of that matter is that abortion is the killing of an innocent human being.
You can either use your brain and know that plain fact or you can misuse your brain to obfuscate it and pretend not to know it.

Is this candid camera? Am I being Punk'd here?
I hope you're trolling here. Otherwise that might realistically be the most ironic and least self aware statement in the entirety of human history.

Please elaborate.
My reasoning for being against abortion is simply that I believe it's wrong to choose to kill innocent human beings.
Even innocent human beings I know nothing of and have no feelings for.
It's very simple.
Now tell us your rationale for supporting people's right to kill innocent human beings. I can't wait to hear your clear-headed, concise, non ad-hominem response.

Your entire argument is based off your emotional reaction to looking at a peanut on an ultrasound and claiming that your feelings in that moment are science

Nope. That's a way for you to rationalize your dismissal of what I'm clearly saying, but it's not correct. I plainly stated my rationale.
I await yours.

Your "rationale" isn't even close to rational. All you said was that you looked at an ultrasound. You provided no details other than that, for all I know you came to this conclusion from looking at an ultrasound at the 8 month mark.
And please explain how YOU looking at an ultrasound and coming up with an opinion in your head, without any kind of tests or anything to back up your feeling, is "scientific proof". Have you ever even heard the term "scientific method" in your life?

Essentials of Human Embryology by Keith L. Moore, Toronto: B.C. Decker Inc, 1988

"Human development begins after the union of male and female gametes or germ cells during a process known as fertilization (conception)." (p. 2)
and
quote:
"Fertilization is a sequence of events that begins with the contact of a sperm (spermatozoon) with a secondary oocyte (ovum) and ends with the fusion of their pronuclei (the haploid nuclei of the sperm and ovum) and the mingling of their chromosomes to form a new cell. This fertilized ovum, known as a zygote, is a large diploid cell that is the beginning, or primordium, of a human being." (p. 2)

quote:
"Although life is a continuous process, fertilization is a critical landmark because, under ordinary circumstances, a new, genetically distinct human organism is thereby formed.... The combination of 23 chromosomes present in each pronucleus results in 46 chromosomes in the zygote. Thus the diploid number is restored and the embryonic genome is formed. The embryo now exists as a genetic unity." (p. 12)

"Almost all higher animals start their lives from a single cell, the fertilized ovum (zygote)... The time of fertilization represents the starting point in the life history, or ontogeny, of the individual." (p. 3)

Literally none of that says anything about sentient life or consciousness. Do you also cry every time a tree is cut down in the forest? Those have more life than anything you posted
Posted on 4/3/20 at 10:38 am to BowlJackson
Since when is sentience or conciousness ever been a question? It's human life, period. Do you think those who lie in a coma without life support are less human. Should we just abort them too? Nice try at shifting the point though. I give it a 2 for the effort.

Incorrect
Ultrasounds are absolutely irrelevant, IF you don't believe it's wrong to choose to kill innocent human beings.
If you do think it's wrong to kill innocent human beings, and you are ignorant as to the reality of what abortion is, then ultrasounds provide additional information. I introduced that point in rebuttal to your criticizing Christians of the past for not being against abortion and insinuating that we only oppose it now for political reasons.
You continue to ignore my main point, which is that abortion is wrong because it's the intentional killing of an innocent human being. That's it.
You support abortion, so will you own the fact that you support people's right to kill innocent human beings? Or will you pretend that you don't realize that's what abortion is?
Be a man and answer the question.
Posted on 4/3/20 at 10:48 am to uway
I've answered the question, you're just too stupid and emotional to accept science. Aborting a fetus is NOT killing a human life. You can't end a life that doesn't exist. You're equating flushing your load down the toilet to murder and it's a laughable.
Congratulations on successfully being brainwashed and used as a political pawn. Ask your grandparents if they remember how they felt before outrage over abortion was invented in 1979
