We need to stand up to people who use the term "out of an abundance of caution."

Irish Channel was cancelled "out of an abundance of caution" for weather. The sun is shining. If you need an "abundance of caution," stay your pathetic arse inside and let the rest of us live.

You should probably thank gentlemen such as Gordon, Morris Bart, & others for the disclaimer…

We have hit the stage where people will cancel anything because it may be mildly inconvenient.

Is this one of those things where the weather rips the shite out of certain areas but the people that didn’t get hit bitch about the warnings and fun party cancellations and ignore the carnage?

Banks use it when taking something for collateral but not using that asset in the collateral coverage for the loan. It’s part of the collateral, but doesn’t contribute to the coverage or LTV calculation.
Also, when a girl says she’s on the pill, but you wear a condom anyway…out of an abundance of caution.

We’d still be living in caves or would be extinct if we maintained an abundance of caution. Humans survive and thrive on calculated risks.

That’s sounds cool and idealistic on a macro scale, but doesn’t really apply to a voluntary gathering of hundreds or thousands of people and the safety and logistical concerns regarding the same.

It only exists because of liberals.
There, fixed it for you.

Well then it’s just properly calculated caution and not “an abundance.”
