There are other, better alternative. My son who is now 12 was highly allergic to any milk protein as an infant.

We never had soy milk in the house.

Soy milk came about due to the need for an alternative to animal milks because of allergies. My younger sister had a serious milk allergy as a young child. But she hated the taste of soy milk so it wasn't ever really in our house. This was the elate 60s early 70s, they apparently had not figured out how to milk almonds yet.

This is due to pasteurization and removing of the probiotics in raw milk. Goat milk is a better alternative than soy as it’s closest to human breast milk.

You are thinking of digestive or intolerance (like lactose intolerance) issues.

Allergies are another matter all together, and are typically related to proteins that are common in all animal milks. Sometimes digestive issues are mistaken for allergies but a simple scratch test will verify if it is indeed an allergy.
