And Vance said something absolutely retarded as it relates to church teachings

quote:

, "There is a Christian concept that you love your family and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens, and then after that, prioritize the rest of the world. A lot of the far left has completely inverted that."
Thats absolutely not a Christian concept and I hope the damn pope would know that

Still setting in that the new Pope is an American. I'm not even Catholic but today is a special day for our country.

For those politicizing this thread, I encourage you to reflect on what an important day it is to Catholics around the world.

I wouldn't call it a "principal" but I don't think that statement is wrong or heretical. It stands to reason that love starts with this closest to you.

I’m sorry I do find it completely against Catholic teachings I have read and learned my entire life to “prioritize your love”

Which is why being Christ like is so difficult to achieve. His love had no priority

I know nothing about this guy but I hate it already. The American Catholic Church is leading the world in hiding the pedophiles and helping predators avoid justice. This guy will be part of the American efforts to continue to allow the Catholic Church to avoid accountability for the vast pedorastry of the priesthood.

Its not about being MAGA.

Its about hoping for someone to put a clamp on FedGov money funneled into 'refugee resettlement' Catholic NGOs.

If you want to help the poor, great. Send people and money to them. Don't create and enhance programs that instruct 'migrants' to lie on documentation to get classified as 'asylum seekers' and 10's of 1,000s of Haitians airlifted to Ohio.

Mass migration is THE issue of our time.

Disagree. It is a symptom, not the problem.

The issue of our time is remaining grounded in truth when the entire world is incentivizing you to abandon it.

The absolute worst. It's like the left wing had their own exodus from Twitter and ended up over there. Even the sports subreddits have seen it seep in.

His love had no priority

Sure it did. He said the greatest commandment is to love the lord your God. And the second is your neighbor as yourself. There's priority right there.

I don't think it's worth a back and forth in this thread, but here's a little more that I found. Word on Fire

quote:

Vance was, of course, articulating the concept of ordo amoris, the right or proper ordering of one’s love, although he did not use that term in the interview. As Jonah McKeown notes in a recent article, St. Augustine equated virtue with this proper ordering of one’s love (“Virtus est ordo amoris”) in his classic work City of God and elaborated upon this idea in his book On Christian Doctrine:

Yeh….. So he definitely didn’t tell you to love your wife then love your neighbors then prioritize the other countries you love
