I don't like when ppl get antsy about bad weather just because of one bad incident. That being said, with the weather coming this weekend and the Mississippi rising, are we in for it in some areas?
Where's the back flow guy that was calling shots in August?

Rainfall down here has 0 impact on the level of the Mississippi.

The Mississippi being high has nothing to do with backflow. That all came from the Amite.

Right. But what if the river back feeds into drainage area and we get the 5" that's is being predicted.

It's supposed to rain like 3-5 inches. In August it rained like 30 inches

Exactly. It rains this much about 10 times per year.

Seeing that he appears to be from West Feliciana, I would assume he's taking about some of the low lying areas up around St. Francisville that sometimes get water when the river gets high. He's not predicting widespread flooding.

Ok! Didn't know if it would trickle down to the northern areas of BR and stuff!

Baton Rouge drains into the Amite, so it wouldn't be a drainage backup problem if the Mississippi is high.

What the hell this guy talking about?

The only way the MS River will back feed into any drainage basin south of Vicksburg, MS is if one the levees or water control structures on the east side of the river fails.
