She's right that mental illness is an issue but that also doesn't excuse crimes. Brooks knew what he was doing and to excuse away his heinous crimes because of this is ridiculous.

She really hasn't said he was mentally ill and if she was insinuating that and he had mental illness, she claims it should have been addressed early. What did she do to facilitate that?
