Watching the World Cup and the chants...for someone that doesn't know soccer

What are the fans chanting during the game?...sounds like singing songs almost. My son was watching it in the other room and I thought he was watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind for a second.
Anyway, are these national "songs", team things, etc? Does the American fans do that for us?

That's what I thought Argentina was singing. Thank you for the clarification.

It depends.
US fans sing stuff like seven nation army and country roads.

We won the third title with Lionel, and we want to be champions once again... I want to see the fourth star shining on the jersey."
I was born in Argentina, land of Diego and Lionel, of the kids from Malvinas whom I will never forget..."
Stuff like that

I believe that we will win
Its really fricking simple
Put the ball into the net
And we'll go fricking mental
Ive only watched one soccer game in my life, circa 2015,ish. I must've heard that 80 times.
80 or 90 times. That too much. Im doing a chant census.

Interesting. Are these done pre season or pre game? Is it the same every year?

Argentina
I am Argentine from cradle to grave, for the Malvinas, for Diego, for Leo’s final chapter. Argentina, I want to see you become back-to-back champions.”
U.S.
“ Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads”
Colombia
Olé, olé, olé... Colombia, Colombia!", also taunting "USA, Colombia es tu papá!" (Colombia is your daddy)
France
“Allez les Bleus” (come on the blues)

Same for France every year. Argentina usually switches it up. Same every year for Colombia.

And all this time I assumed bukkake was a Japanese fetish.

Soccer fans usually make up words related to their team to the tune of once popular songs.
