The problem for me with the Trump jokes is by Saturday all of these jokes are already old news.
The same jokes about Trump are coming relentlessly from: Colbert, Noah, Meyers, Kimmel, Sam Bee, Maher, and being tweeted by blue check mark “celebrities” on Twitter in addition to all the Trump coverage on all the Morning shows, evening news shows, and 24/7 news networks.
So by the time you get to Saturday Night, mocking Trump just seems lazy and it’s low hanging fruit. If these are really some of the best improv writers and comedians in the country, I’d think they could do better.

Yeah, I get that. Trump would have been an easy target for any cast in the history of the show. I think their time would be better spent elsewhere, but I understand why they keep going back to the well.

This is not SNL specific, and some stuff out there is still funny, but I don't like Trump at all and this moment in comedy is getting old.
SNL always runs political stuff in the ground, every other late night show doing it as well is new. That being said, they'll stop doing it when it quits being good for business.

That's a good pic and it's close but I might have to go with Chris Farley. I do give Eddie Murphy the nod in his film career. I thought his movies were funnier than Farley's but as far as off the cuff skit comedy it's hard to beat Farley. That dude was just off his fricking rocker

We watch pretty much every week. This week's show was by far the least funny show in recent memory.
As for the show in general, I agree with what others have said. Some skits are hilarious, some are awful, some are ok, some start out really funny and get old. To enjoy the show, you have to be willing to take the bad with the good.
The two best skits from this season, imo are James Franco spelling bee and Sam Rockwell science show.

the original cast with chase, akroyd and belushi changed comedy forever. they’ve always done political sketches butnothing to the extent of what goes on nowadays.

I watched a replay of it last night and its the first time I can say the best part, by a country mile, was the music.
That's the first episode I've watched in years and it will be many more until I watch another.
