I have a speed queen I bought in 2017 to replace my piece of shite Samsung. It is built like a Sherman tank and washes the hell out of clothes. It also never gets off balance and actually uses water instead of the crap these days that use 1 cup of water.

In late 2018 my 20 yr old direct drive Kenmore had to be replaced. Did my research and decided to buy a 2017 model speed queen. Couldn't find a new one anywhere, but lucked out and found an appliance place in NOLA that had a 2017 floor model at nearly half price.
Built like a tank, cleans very well, the dryer drys fast. Would definitely buy again.

I think Ricardo has a good point about Maytags and their plastics.
Mr. Turf does most of our household appliance repairs (a how to book for generalities and You tube for specifics). One positive for Maytags is that they are easy to repair because of the way you can access the innards without taking the whole thing apart. He hated the Kenmore he used to have. Then we had to replace a water hose in mine (in New Orleans, the clamps rusted out because it was in an unairconditioned part of the house). He came away from doing that with a big grin on his face and swore alliegence to Maytag.

Our prior washer was a Kenmore. After 4 years it started leaking water.Called for a repair guy from Sears and was told it would take a month to get to us. So I put it next to the street and bought a Speed Queen with a 7 year warranty. But what I was really looking for was the local dealer who had been in BR for 40+ years so I could get servicing. Current SQ has been running for 3 years with out a problem. Another observation is that folks use too much laundry detergent. Unless you are rolling in the mud of the Louisiana swamp your clothes don't really get that dirty. Also,go to Stanton's here in BR.

Saturday is washing day at our house and let me say that the GE we bought (Model GTW465ASNWW) is superior in every way thus far to the 16 month old SQ that needed it's fourth repair it replaced. It does a better job washing, you can raise the lid, there are more features, it's wash cycle is short, it allows for soaking, extra spin and extra rinse. You can buy it 40% less than I paid for my SQ and buy a 5 year guarantee replacement plan from HD for a small amount of money.
IMHO, there is no reason to pay more for a washer than whatever this machine cost.
