Washing machine not spinning--any tips?

or is it done? It is draining the water, just not spinning.

I don't see any oil and I just checked and realized that it is not agitating either. It must be the belt right?

This sounds stupid, but if it's front loader you might be able to take out filter, could be clogged bad, and then you'd have to take it apart.

Again sounds stupid but this can be a cause

bad lid switch

then reading on, i'm not sure.

If it's a Whirlpool or Kenmore top load it's your coupler or the belt depending on model /year.

GE, it's the motor or lid switch.

Has this happen yesterday, turns out that the machine got off balance during a spin cycle and disengaged the motor. It might be as simple as readjusting the machine to level.
