but the star of the show imo was Clem Burke, the drummer.

Burke was a fantastic drummer, but the entire band was more than solid - that was a solid New Wave/punk "lite" rock band. That was largely pre-video/pre-MTV, so Harry's looks would have only taken them so far.

Back then, recording artists had to have more than image - they had to have this thing called "talent" - even Kiss (that's right - I went there, DWI.)

10 then went bad fast in return to hazard county. So bad, points should be docked from her earlier self.

KISS has more great songs than most good bands -their problem was the volume of material they put out. They were cranking out albums twice a year at one point, so for every good song they had 10 bad ones. But they still put put some great songs and many classics.

That’s a band I wish I had seen live. I was just a tad too young to go to clubs then, so I was sitting home while my brother was going to see the great New Orleans bands like The Cold, Zebra, Lillian Axe, etc.

But every now and then The Cold would be featured on a local news show or something like that and I’d always eatch. They got decent radio play too. They deserved to hit it much bigger, but I think they were at the tail end of that style of music.
