Yes, my Irish immigrating ancestors’ labor created so much of our country’s infrastructure.

Also, yes. It was built upon slavery...AND rugged individualism, entrepreneurship, a sense of duty, ideals of liberty, legal immigrants with a sense of desire and purpose, with and against the native people at times, etc. Life was rough. Enjoy the fruits of our ancestors’ labor.

I would argue that without slavery, the US would have failed long before the civil war.

And you would mostly be correct. The US was behind other western nations, notably France and Great Britain, for industrialization. Southern Planters actually preferred trading with Britain vs the northern states because they could get products for the lower cost.

America was carved out of the wilderness by the iron-clad will of the Anglo-Saxon race.

They provided some of the labor but It’s not like they designed what would become the strongest nation on the planet. One only needs to look at sub Saharan Africa to see how well they plan and build shite

In fact, without slavery, the industrial revolution may have happened sooner.

The industrial revolution actually happened long before America, and that is what brought people here (expansion). It (the industrial revolution) was just on crack during the time you are thinking about.

Did slaves invent railroads, oil production, steel production, cars, interstate highways, airplanes, shipping, atomic bombs/the greatest military ever, or the internet? If not, then no.

They were sold to The States by their black traitors in Africa. They kept an economy viable in the south until the war of northern oppression. Since that economy has crumbled the south and descendants of slaves have been set back at a remarkable rate compared to the white aristocrats of the northern states (particularly the northeast).

The much bigger injustice in society is what has happened to native Americans. For the life of me I cannot figure how they have been so overlooked. There are infinitely more Descedants of slaves that are millionaires on a per capita basis than Native Americans. Yet no African American I have ever met has asked for Native American equality. Not once. Not an athlete, not a politician, not an average Jane or Joe African American has ever asked for that to me personally or that I have ever seen.

If slavery was the key to American success wouldn’t Brazil be much more successful than the United States ?
