re: Walmart isn’t great, but why are some on this board prissy women about going in there?

if I'm in there I may pick up an item or two that I need, as far as their groceries their prices may seem cheaper at first look but most everything I look at comes in smaller quantities than at the places I normally shop, less variety too
I feel like you have this completely backwards

And I'm an engineer, I look at unit prices of items. Walmart is cheaper most of the time unless comparing them to warehouse type places.

There are WalMarts that are very nice, 1 or 2 miles from an ocean,l islands/very nice beach resorts
It is filled with tourists getting fishing licenses, fish bait, inner tubes, suntan lotion, beach umbrellas. They are as nice as Target.
Then there are WalMart's that are in the middle of inland somewhere that have the wide scale of WalMart people.
Also, a lot of medical people shop at 24 hour WalMarts after working 3 to 11.

My response is I posted prices, Wal Mart wasn't cheaper but you want to argue that I am "wrong" because I said many items would be cheaper but 90% of the time Wal Mart would be cheaper.
It's fricking stupid and a desperate attempt not worth my time to argue over something that isn't an opinion. Many items sold at Wal Mart can be found cheaper other places and I find it funny it's something you want to argue about.
I hope you feel satisfied and justified in your Wal Mart adventures.

On this we agree. You posted a couple outliers, which I agree exist and think you've done something

this may be true, I don't really scrutinize things that are already pretty cheap and that I'm not buying in bulk that closely but if I save a couple of cents on a can of stewed tomatoes, for example, and I'm just using these numbers for example, I need 12 oz. of them but they only come in 10 oz. cans at Walmarks, my savings will be blown because I have to buy two cans and end up with a can of extra opened tomatoes whereas I could have gotten the 12 oz. can at my regular store for within pennies of the same price

I used to be one of those people who looked down on Walmart and its shoppers. Then I became a customer to feed my family of 4 within budget. We use them for select food items (non fruit and vegetables). We do our produce shopping at Kroger or another store just because the Wal Mart selection sucks.

You'd be surprised how many people can't do simple division... or read the price tags on the racks

I agree with this in theory, I've just never encountered it personally. You have no reason to lie, so I'll take your word on it

ours is kind of insulated from a lot of the usual riff-raffy Walmarks crowd and you'll see a few, but it's backed up to a Target so I think Target gets more of the milfs from the neighborhood

I don't love going into Walmart but do it when needed. If I don't know where something is I love being able to quickly look up the aisle. Checkout can take a few minutes longer but I net save time not aimlessly wandering around like I do at Costco and Rouses.
But that's a last resort. Ordering online and staying in car to pickup is great. The store is 2 minutes away so usually in 15 minutes I can drive there, wait for pickup, and drive back with the order I made at home on the toilet.
