I voted no on BREC, Library, and COA.
Before these renewals, we need a
N independent appraisal of the funds necessary to maintain a good park system and a good library system. Right now both systems get way more than they need. COA does too and their board has proven to be untrustworthy.
EBR has public safety needs that aren’t funded. Tax cuts for BREC, the Library, and COA could pay for them if put to a vote.
We can’t afford more taxes. We need to work with what we have and do a better job.

I was planning on voting YES on the BREC renewal because I believe it has a lot to offer.
But the arrogant comments from the BREC Commission chairman came to light and that flipped my switch.
I voted NO !

We had a BREC pool in our neighborhood. BREC told the community that if we let them close it, we'd get a new playground and splash pad. Still no splash pad after 17 years, while money is wasted in Baton Rouge. Voting no.
